Project description_
Our scope of work regards the complete renovation of indoor and outdoor space of a beach Villa in the “Villaggio dei Pescatori” Compound in Fregene, a seaside town a few kilometers from Rome.
Only the volume and the main structure have been preserved of the original house, dating back to the early 60s. We modified radically the whole internal and external distribution, starting from the facade up to the veranda and garden. The external original red brick color has been replaced by a white painting, considered more elegant and suitable. All the closures are made of bent sheet metal and painted white. The terrace has been extended and the original veranda has been replaced with a wooden canopy with frame similar to the brise soleil type, that provide a pleasant shade on the front side during summertime becoming a pleasant place to be to relax, read a book or lunch with friends in spite of the summer heat. The garden, in a complete state of disrepair, has been cleaned up protecting only some native plants, leaving a large area dedicated simply to grass
All indoor spaces have been completely transformed and redesigned. The main kitchen originally located near the main entrance, at the Ground floor level, has been moved in the back of the house. The above to create a unique big and flexible space used as a main living and dining room as well. In that area we displaced a big steel cantilevered table , direct continuation of the stove, comfortably used as a table or kitchen worktop or even sitting, thanks to the 22 cm in difference between the FFL of the kitchen and the living room. Beside the kitchen, where previously the living room were placed, there is a small guest room, equipped with private bathroom.
The original spiral staircase has been replaced with a wooden staircase with cantilevered steps inserted into the wall. This alternative allows us to get space in the first level for a master bedroom, originally located in the Ground floor , fully equipped with private bathroom and wardrobe.
Through a glazing door you have access to a large outdoor terrace paved with IPE wood. The original main load-bearing wall, located in the center of the house, was treated with a special plaster roughly finished. All the furniture and FF&E are custom made and designed by us
